Congratulaitons to Smyrna High Football Players: Rodney Shelton, Darrel
Haralson, Ladarious Summers, Kalub Epley, Gary Poindexter, Landon Ramey for
signing national letters of intent to play football at the college level. Best
of luck to these bulldogs and their future football careers.
The Smyrna High Baseball team will be hosting their annual Chili Ball
dinner on Friday, February 7th from 5pm-7pm in the SHS cafeteria. The dinner
will take place prior to the basketball teams hosting Oakland in the final
regular season district home game. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased from any
baseball player, or at the door.
The 2013 State Champion Bulldog softball team will be having their spring
tryouts on February 10th. See Coach Sheppard for more details.

With bowling season in full stride, the Smyrna High Bowling Team is making
another run for a title. They have been putting in hard
work at the Smyrna Bowling Center after school and it seems to have been
paying off. Coach David Looper believes both the boys and girls have the
ability and potential to participate in the state tournament this season. With
four state titles for the boys and two top four finishes for the girls, the

Swimming is a passion at Smyrna High School, and swimming season is here.
A lot of work has been put into preseason practice. Swimming approximately 4,000
meters a day, the swim team is working hard, preparing to take on big
threats such as #1 Hendersonville and #2 Wilson Central. The team is
young in age and experience but has a willingness to work as hard as they can
every day to be the best they can. Coach Tony Trumphour says it's too
early to tell if they're any promising freshmen but...

The Smyrna High School wrestling team is preparing for this upcoming
season, which they believe will be a great season. The wrestling team has
competed in two preseason tournaments along with practice each and every day,
and morning practices before school. The team roster is filled with
seniors that should show great senior leadership, a valuable asset in
helping the underclassmen learn. This leadership will aide the team in being

On October 3rd, the Volleyball team will be celebrating Senior Night, as well
as hosting a Brest Cancer Awareness Event. The seniors wanted to host this
event as many of their coaches and players have had family and friends
experience this horrible disease. The Volleyball team will be
selling some of their shirts, with the proceeds going to Breast Cancer

We are still a few months from the opening girl's basketball game but the
girls are already working hard and putting in the work neccesary for a succesful
season. ith weight training and conditioning the girls will be ready to go when

Although we are a few months out from opening tip off of the boy's basketball
season, there is already a buzz going around about this year's team. The
boys have been working really hard over the summer while attending a team camp
at MTSU and participating in open gym and individual workouts during the month

morning workouts on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 6:45am-8am. After
