DEPUTY ANGELA LEWIS
 
Deputy Angela Lewis was raised in LaVergne, TN and graduated from LaVergne High School in 2001. She attended Trevecca Nazarene University in 2001-2002. She graduated from MTSU in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice, with a minor in Religious Studies. She worked two years at the Rutherford County Juvenile Detention Center as a detention officer and two years at Youth Villages as a behavior counselor. She joined the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Department in 2009 where she served as a Patrol Officer. She made the transition to SRO at the end of 2010, where she was assigned to Smyrna High School.

DEPUTY JOHN ACTON
 
Dep. John Acton was born and raised near Selma Alabama. At age 17 his family moved to Lebanon TN where he attended Lebanon High School his Jr. & Sr. and graduated in 1984. He attended MTSU and obtained a BS degree in Criminal Justice and a Minor in Psychology and Sociology. In 1987 Dep. Acton joined the United States Marine Corps and competed his recruit training at MCRD Parris Island S.C. and Infantry Training School at Camp Jejune N.C. He is a 8 year veteran of the Marine Corps and a Veteran of the Gulf War, Desert Shield & Desert Storm. He has worked as a Jailor and Youth Service Officer for Wilson County as well as a State Probation Officer for the Department of Youth Development, Currently DCS. In 1999, Dep. Acton gained his Commission as a Tennessee Law Enforcement Officer and worked for the Hartsville P.D. In 2000, he joined the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office as a patrol deputy and in 2002 became a SRO for Smyrna High School.
